Pacoima, California 07/27/15

These were taken with my new Fujifilm X100T. I had a half hour on the way home from work to shoot a few of the places I see every day on my drive home. Click on the image for a larger view. The full size out of the camera image is linked below each one. The Gravel Pit The Gravel Pit (Full Size Image) Abandoned Tracks Abandoned Tracks (Full Size Image) Dead End Dead End (Full Size Image)

Well, that is The End for today.

Did you set the camera to shoot in B&W or convert it on your computer?

These are straight out of the camera jpegs. No fiddling with the RAW at all. The film simulation modes on this camera are great, and I doubt I would be able to recreate them in Aperture.

These B&Ws are shot with a simulated yellow filter to darken the sky a bit. There are three B&W modes... no filter, yellow filter and red filter. They are designed to go into the underlying color matrix of the sensor and work on each channel of color uniquely.

I can also program the contrast, boosting the black level and the highlights. These are flat on the dark stuff and +1 on highlights. I slightly underexposed to get a richer spread of middle grays. The camera has three stops of exposure compensation in 1/3 stop intervals.
