These were taken with my new Fujifilm X100T. I had a half hour on the way home from work to shoot a few of the places I see every day on my drive home. Click on the image for a larger view. The full size out of the camera image is linked below each one.

Did you set the camera to shoot in B&W or convert it on your computer?
These are straight out of the camera jpegs. No fiddling with the RAW at all. The film simulation modes on this camera are great, and I doubt I would be able to recreate them in Aperture.
These B&Ws are shot with a simulated yellow filter to darken the sky a bit. There are three B&W modes... no filter, yellow filter and red filter. They are designed to go into the underlying color matrix of the sensor and work on each channel of color uniquely.
I can also program the contrast, boosting the black level and the highlights. These are flat on the dark stuff and +1 on highlights. I slightly underexposed to get a richer spread of middle grays. The camera has three stops of exposure compensation in 1/3 stop intervals.
